We currently have a position for a Qualified Heavy Vehicle Mechanic to join our team in our South Guildford depot.
The role:
Servicing and maintenance of the fleet, including scheduled maintenance, repairs, and preventative maintenance
Effectively diagnose and find faults in the mechanical assessment of all aspects of the HV truck fleet and trailers
Ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards in all maintenance activities
Maintain accurate records of work completed and parts used
Work collaboratively with the team to manage vehicle downtime and ensure prompt return to service
Provide hands-on training and guidance to apprentices, fostering their technical skills and knowledge in diesel mechanics
What you need:
Fully qualified Heavy Diesel Mechanic with relevant trade certificate
Experience with preventive maintenance and the ability to identify potential issues before they become critical
Previous experience in providing maintenance and repairs to heavy commercial fleet
The ability to work well under pressure
Strong commitment to health and safety
Self-motivated and able to work autonomously
Knowledgeable in Kenworth and American-based trucks
