About the Role

Our Home and Garden Maintenance Workers provide services to our aged care customers that help keep their home safe and liveable.  The tasks you may be required to perform include:

  • Weeding, pruning and lawn mowing
  • Cleaning gutters
  • Furniture and rubbish removal
  • Window washing
  • Basic repair work such as fixing uneven flooring

You will be required to travel to our customer’s homes across metropolitan Adelaide.  It is therefore a requirement of this role that you have ongoing access to a vehicle that is suitable for transporting gardening equipment such as a ute, van or trailer.

 

About You

You will be someone who is able to demonstrate previous success in the areas of building and garden maintenance and repair, who is interested in making a contribution to our community.  You will have excellent communication skills and find enjoyment through engaging with our customers in their home.

 

Skills and Experience

You will have:

  • Previous experience performing basic gardening and maintenance tasks
  • Knowledge and skills in using a variety of garden/maintenance power and hand tools
  • Experience performing routine maintenance on tools and equipment
  • Organisation and time management skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of work health and safety requirements including the risks and hazards associated with manual labour, and using hazardous equipment and chemicals.
  • The ability to work autonomously as a predominantly remote worker

 

Other Role Requirements

  • Current Driver’s Licence and access to a vehicle that is suitable for transporting gardening equipment, such as a ute, van or trailer.
  • Current National Police Check, and DHS Working With Children Check, or willing to obtain these at your own cost prior to commencement of employment.
  • Physical fitness appropriate for duties being undertaken – you will be required to pass a pre-employment medical and functional assessment prior to being offered the role.
