The Opportunity

The AIR Team Clinical Trials Group at The Kids Research Institute Australia are committed to improving the lives of children with cystic fibrosis, bronchiectasis, wet cough, paediatric Crohn’s, ulcerative colitis, and other diseases. We now have an opportunity for an entry-level Clinical Trials Coordinator to assist with an exciting new project. This role will coordinate the set up and day to day running of several clinical research trials.  

Reporting to the Program Manager and closely working with the Principal Investigators and wider research team, you will provide coordination as well as being actively involved in the clinical trial by engaging in multiple clinical trial protocols.

Some of your responsibilities in this varied role will include:

  • Completing participant study visits including sample collection.

  • Overseeing the collection of project data and database management, ensuring that all protocol components are performed in accordance with site and sponsor requirements.

  • Preparing documentation and reporting as required by Ethics Committees and Governance Departments.

Conveniently located within Perth Children’s Hospital, this opportunity will be offered on a full-time or part-time basis, for a period of 12 months with the possibility of extension. Flexibility on contract length and hours will be considered for the right candidate.

About You

This position would suit someone who is looking to jump-start their career in the field of clinical trials, and who is looking to learn from an experienced research team. Along with a tertiary qualification in a health or science related field (e.g. health science, public health), the key to your success will be the following demonstrated skills:

  • High level of independence and initiative, as well as the ability to work as an effective team member.

  • Highly organised with the proven ability to appropriately prioritise tasks in a busy working environment.

  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.

  • Evidence of well-developed problem-solving ability.

  • Meticulous attention to detail.
