The Role
We are currently seeking an experienced Heavy Vehicle Mechanic to join our team on a full-time basis. This role will be based between workshops located near Newcastle and Port Macquarie along with service calls as required. Base workshop located near Port Macquarie.
Reporting to the Workshop Manager, you will be responsible for the servicing, repairs and maintenance of the Company’s plant, heavy vehicles and equipment including scheduled maintenance, preventive maintenance, repairs and responding to breakdowns.
Key responsibilities for this role include:
Complete scheduled services and maintenance activities in accordance with designated schedules
Perform routine repairs to plant and equipment
Conduct safety checks and complete Damage Reports
Repair faulty or damaged mechanical parts
Record repairs and faults in maintenance register as needed
Maintain critical spares inventory
Report near miss and incidents, complete investigations and implement corrective actions in a timely manner
Ensure safety of other employees, contractors or members of the public whilst carrying out duties
Participate in risk management and hazard identification processes
To be successful in this role you will have:
NSW Licenced Heavy Vehicle Mechanic
Previous experience as a Qualified Mechanic
Truck licence – Minimum HR essential
Forklift Licence - highly regarded
Be a team player and have a “can do” attitude
Have proven problem solving & organisational skills
Be reliable and able to work unsupervised
Knowledge of WHS&E practices
