Weekday Fixed Plant Fitter – Parkhurst Site and Kunwarara Mine

 The Mechanical Fitter is responsible for the mechanical maintenance of all fixed plant located at Kunwarara operations and Parkhurst processing plant. This includes ensuring all maintenance activities are performed for a safe and reliable operation. Positions available at both Kunwarara mine/wash plant and Parkhurst Processing plant.

 About The Role 

As the Mechanical Fitter, you will: 

• Operate in accordance with QMAG’s Core Values at all times. 

• Install new and maintain current equipment to ensure reliable operation. 

• Provide feedback to supervisors and planners to assist in work scheduling. 

• Participation in a one in eight week on call roster (Parkhurst processing only)  

• Develop work plans to effectively complete assigned jobs including tools, equipment, and spare parts. 

• Perform routine mechanical maintenance activities, breakdown work and problem analysis to meet both daily and long-term safety and production needs. 

• Identify, initiate, and implement plant improvement opportunities. 

• Undertake minor project work to improve plant performance and safety. 

• Review work procedures and PM’s and provide feedback to ensure the maintenance system remains current. 

• Utilise the computer-based maintenance system SAP to record work history and parts usage. 

• Promote and assist in the development of all work group personnel in safety, technical and procedural issues. 

The Requirements 

We are looking for people with the following: 

Essential 

• Mechanical Fitter trade qualification  

• Manual Licence 

Highly Desirable 

• Experience with hydraulic and pneumatic control systems and compressors. 

• Experience in maintenance of bulk materials handling equipment including Belt Conveyors, Cone and Jaw Crushers, Slurry Pumps and Vibrating Springs.  

• EWP – Elevated Work Platform 

• Working at Heights 

• LF – Forklift  

• Confined Space – Entry and Responsible

 Remuneration 

Attractive in town rate: 

• 26 weeks Primary Parental Leave, 4 weeks Secondary Parental Leave 

• 4 weeks Annual Leave per year 

• 10 days personal leave 

• $49->$51/hr Base Rate – Level based on skills, qualifications & industry experience 

• + 17.5% Leave loading on Annual Leave 

• + 12% Superannuation on hourly rate 

• + Tool Allowance 

• + On Call allowance 

• + Travel Allowance (for Kunwarara workers)  

• Overtime available periodically as operationally required  (shutdowns & breakdowns) 

• Total annual salary ~$125K -> $135k + Superannuation
