About the role

  • Research and prepare grant applications for funding initiatives relevant to the Aboriginal community.

  • Promote the positive and collaborative culture and values of the organisation through open, fair and transparent decision making and ethical, professional behaviour.

  • Work in collaboration with the Community Support and Programs team, Coordinator, Manager and other internal stakeholders to achieve the business unit goals, work requests, and Council priorities.

 About you

  • Tertiary or other qualifications and/or equivalent experience in a relevant field.

  • Aboriginality (people of Aboriginal descent as per Section 14(d) of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1977).

  • Current Driver’s Licence Class C.

About the role 

Knox City Council is currently seeking Casual Drivers to join the Community Transport team.

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced bus driver to join our team. As a Community Transport Driver you will make a difference daily by providing transport support to Knox community groups and residents who are socially isolated and/or vulnerable.

You will report to the Community Transport Program Lead and work collaboratively within the Community Access and Support department. This is a Casual role based out of our Eastgate North building.

What you will bring to this role

  • Outstanding customer service skills.
  • Experience in driving a variety of buses that have up to 37 seats, including those with a wheelchair hoist.
  • A current Victorian licence with a HR endorsement.

About the opportunity  

This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic General Surgeon who is preparing for a future application to the Australia and New Zealand Training Board in Colon and Rectal Surgery (ANZTBCRS) for formal training to become a Colorectal Surgeon.

This is a high-volume, 12-month clinical fellowship in colorectal surgery in Townsville University Hospital with abundant opportunity to also develop an academic career in colorectal surgery. The successful candidate will be encouraged to complete a Master of Philosophy by publication at the James Cook University.

Townsville University Hospital is the only tertiary referral centre in North Queensland. The public hospital receives patients from as far north as Cape York Peninsula and the Torres Strait Islands and west to Mount Isa and the Gulf of Carpentaria. It is also the major teaching hospital for James Cook University's School of Medicine.

Our Colorectal Unit in Townsville University Hospital is an expanding and collegiate unit. There are two consultant colorectal surgeons (Dr Chrispen Mushaya and A/Prof Shinichiro Sakata) who are full members of the Colorectal Surgical Society of Australia and New Zealand (CSSANZ), one unaccredited clinical colorectal fellow, one senior SET registrar in General Surgery, one non-accredited registrar, one resident and two surgical interns.

The Department of Logistics and Infrastructure partners with community, business, and government to deliver integrated, sustainable infrastructure and services across the Northern Territory (NT). The Transport Safety and Services unit provides operational and regulatory transport safety and services across the NT.

The Role

Opportunities are available for Transit Officers to provide effective customer services and a safe environment for all stakeholders on the Darwin bus network in a high pressure environment.

You will be responsible for conducting on-road patrols to proactively deal with potential anti-social behaviours, duty taskings and requests for assistance on the bus network. These are dynamic roles that involve dealing with colleagues and the public in a fair and equitable manner, providing a highly visible presence whilst promoting a positive image of the Department’s services.

About you

  • Understanding of contemporary customer service techniques in a cross-cultural environment

  • Well-developed interpersonal skills with the ability to manage conflict situations

  • Written and verbal communication skills, including computer literacy

  • Ability to interpret and apply legislation, and an understanding of Workplace Health and Safety principles

  • Demonstrated integrity and the ability to maintain high levels of confidentiality

  • Ability to successfully complete a psychological assessment and pre-employment medical

  • Hold a valid Working with Children Clearance Notice (Ochre Card) and complete a National Police criminal history clearance

  • Hold a current Senior First Aid Certificate and an NT driver’s licence (manual).

The successful applicant must be willing to work shifts across a varying roster including late nights, weekends and public holidays and complete Aerosol Subject Restraint (OC Spray) training.
