About the role:

BUMA Australia provides a total mine service to Stanwell Corporation's Meandu Mine to deliver coal to the adjacent Tarong power station. We are responsible for both managing and operating the mine.

Services provided include planning, drilling, overburden removal, coal mining, coal processing, rehabilitation, and maintenance of mobile and fixed plant. The project uses a combination of dragline and truck-and shovel operations. Meandu Mine currently has five working pits, with sufficient coal to fuel the stations until at least 2037.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the construction of foundations, footings, structures for switchrooms, inverter stations, and ancillary assets in accordance with IFC design and specifications.

  • Support the construction of bulk earthworks, detailed earthworks, drainage including substation benches, internal tracks and hardstands in accordance with IFC design and specifications.

  • Work collaboratively with the electrical and structural teams to produce coordinated multidisciplinary work packs.

  • Interpret geotechnical data, survey inputs, and client specifications to deliver cost-effective and constructible designs.

Requirements:

  • Coal Board Medical - desirable
  • Standard 11 - desirable
  • BMA, Glencore, Anglo American, Curragh site inductions desirable
  • High Risk Work Licence
  • Working at Heights
  • C Class license required - HR, HC or MC license desirable
  • Minimum 2 years experience rigging in either the resources or crane hire industry
  • Excellent attitude to safety
  • Flexible attitude to work with other crews onsite, at times to assist with tasks outstide your scope of work
