Dawson is located at the southern end of the Bowen Basin in Central Queensland, being just over a 2hrs drive west from either Rockhampton or Gladstone, or 4.5hrs drive north of the Darling Downs or South Burnett. Subsidised residential or camp accommodation options available.

Steelmaking coal is an essential ingredient in blast-furnace steel manufacture, producing steel used for critical building and infrastructure around the world. In Australia, we operate five steelmaking coal mines in Queensland’s Bowen Basin, and have additional joint venture interests in steelmaking coal and manganese, as well as copper exploration projects underway in North West Queensland and Western Australia.


Job Description

We are currently seeking multiple experienced Diesel Fitters, to join the Central Workshop Maintenance team at our Dawson Mine in Moura, QLD.

To be successful in this role you will ensure compliance with all Anglo American safety and operating systems and have a commitment to working together as part of a team to achieve business objectives.

Your core accountabilities will include:

  • Ensure that plant and equipment is maintained to a high level.

  • Undertake troubleshooting, fault finding, breakdown and preventative maintenance on Heavy Mobile Equipment.

  • Achieve performance targets in compliance with statutory, safety, health, budget and environmental requirements.

  • Knowledge of SAP and Auto Electrical experience is not essential but highly desirable.


Qualifications

  • Mechanical Trade Qualification (Cert III in Engineering - Diesel Fitter or equivalent)

  • Hold a current Australian Manual Drivers Licence

  • Minimum of C Class Manual Drivers Licence

  • Experience with safety management systems

  • Experience within a mining Mobile Maintenance Operations

  • HIAB, EWP, Forklift, Dogging and Rigging Certificates (desirable)

About You – Skills & Experience

We are seeking a motivated and safety-focused Auto Electrician or Electrician with strong hands-on experience supporting mobile equipment and site installations across surface mining operations. The ideal candidate will bring the following:

Essential Requirements – Auto Electrical / Electrician Experience
  • Current NSW Auto Electrical Licence or NSW Electrical Licence

  • 3+ years’ experience working on surface mining operations within Australia

  • Experience carrying out onsite installations in varied mining environments

    • Electronic circuit diagrams

  • Basic mechanical aptitude for conceptualising mounting hardware, brackets and equipment housings

This role is responsible for maintaining safe, efficient, and reliable Product and Service Delivery (PSD) to customers with respect to measurements/logging while drilling technologies and services. Previous training in relevant technologies and software is desirable.

The successful candidate will be an excellent communicator, enjoy solving problems, and work well in teams. They must have strong interpersonal skills, be highly self-motivated, competent, and able to work in high-pressure environments, while being willing to learn and adapt to changing situations.

About The Role

We are currently seeking an experienced person to join SGW in the role of Water Regulation and Quality Team Leader. The key responsibilities of the role are:

·        Maintenance and continual improvement of SGW’s Drinking Water Quality Management System

·        Ensure compliance for specific water quantity related aspects, including Bulk Water entitlements, Ground Water Licences, Water Accounting & Response Plans

·        Ensuring compliance with the requirements of relevant Acts

·        Provision of technical advice relating to water quality

·        Effectively lead a team, develop people capabilities, and provide support and guidance to team members
