About the role:

To be considered for this role you will have:

  • As a Cranes and Transport Operator you will perform all activities associated with operating mobile cranes and transport equipment across our Pilbara Operations.

Technical Expertise

  • Utilizing, drop deck, flat top, semi-trailers, and floats ranging from 50T - 100T. Ability and desire to upgrade to MC truck license for road train purposes, towing crane counterweights on purpose built skel trailers.

  • Understanding of Main Roads permitting requirements and the Chain of Responsibility.

  • Computer Literacy: Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications/ SAP/ Emails

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Superintendent (on a 4:3 roster) to oversee the planning, execution, and successful delivery of projects within a successful indigenous Joint Venture mining and civil earthworks operations. This role will require a strong focus on project planning, resource management, cost control, and compliance, while ensuring high standards of safety and operational excellence. You will work closely with internal teams, clients, and stakeholders to drive project success.


Key Responsibilities

  • Implement and maintain clear lines of accountabilities of the project site team.  Principles of supervision, training, performance evaluation and professional development

  • Oversee project execution, asset deployment, and resource utilisation while maintaining schedules and reporting via daily project meetings.

  • Maintain strong communication with internal teams and clients, ensuring projects meet scope, cost, and timeline expectations. Utilise project management software for tracking.

  • Manage staffing, rosters, subcontractors, and site-specific HR/IR functions.

  • Lead mobilisation, execution, and demobilisation of works.

  • Manage contracts, progress claims, variations, and invoicing while mitigating scope creep.

  • Support HSET and Quality teams in process improvements, audits, and compliance.

Essential Criteria:

  • Statutory Schedule 26 or currently in process of completing this qualification.

  • Tertiary qualification in Engineering/ Project Management or extensive experience managing mining and civil earthworks projects.

  • Proven ability to develop and execute project plans, budgets, and schedules, ensuring successful delivery within scope, cost, and timeline constraints.

  • Strong experience in asset deployment, resource allocation, and workforce planning, with the ability to optimise efficiency and productivity.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively liaise with clients, internal teams, subcontractors, and senior management.

  • Experience managing contracts, progress claims, cost control, and invoicing, with a strong understanding of commercial strategies and risk mitigation.

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Analyst - Simulation Delivery to join our ISP - Value Chain Performance (VCP) division.

This role offers an exciting opportunity to make a tangible impact on how we plan and operate across the entire Rio Tinto Iron Ore (RTIO) supply chain.

As part of our Simulation Modelling team, you will play a critical role in delivering data-driven insights that support strategic decision-making. This position provides exposure to discrete event simulation tools and the chance to develop a holistic understanding of our end-to-end supply chain - from pit to port.

You will work closely with diverse teams across RTIO, collaborating with stakeholders at all levels to drive optimisation and influence key business outcomes.

Reporting to the Principal Simulation Delivery, you'll be at the heart of turning complex data into actionable insights that shape strategic decisions.

Your work will span across analytics, simulation, and stakeholder engagement, giving you a unique opportunity to influence how our supply chain operates. Key aspects of the role include:

  • Data Analytics & Insights - Collect, process, and analyse large operational datasets to create model inputs, validate results, and uncover insights that drive decision-making.

You and your team will be Perth-based with opportunity to work flexibly from home combined with time in our Central Park offices. There will be the opportunity for some Pilbara site travel from time to time, however this will be performed on an ad-hoc basis.

 As a team member, you will be responsible for maintaining our fleet across the Pilbara in Western Australia, using your state-of-the-art service Vehicle. While travel may be required to meet client requirements, you will always have the support of our dedicated operations team

Strong attention to detail and fault-finding skills are crucial in ensuring optimal conditions for our fleet and client's equipment, with minimal downtime. Time management, pride in your work, and prioritizing safety are essential for success. You must also be comfortable following both our safety procedures and those of our clients and their operational sites.


Required Qualifications and Skills:

- Completion of a Heavy Vehicle Mechanic Trade Certificate or equivalent.

- Ability to undergo pre-employment medical checks and ongoing Alcohol and Other Drug assessments.

- Proficiency in computer use.

- Well-equipped with a personal tool kit.

- Valid WA MR class driver's license.

- Demonstrated ability to work autonomously in remote locations.


Desired Qualifications and Skills:

- Experience in diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and electrical fault-finding would greatly benefit you in this role.

- Electronic engine control experience, specifically ECM and CAN-BUS.

- Completion of a Heavy Diesel Mechanic Trade Certificate.

- HR vehicle license.

- HRWL with LF, WP.

FULL TIME MECHANICAL ENGINEER

Due to the expansions in our Kalgoorlie Operations, we are currently seeking a qualified full time Mechanical Engineer.

The Position is Kalgoorlie based and NOT FIFO.

Must be able to pass D&A Test and Police Clearance

Must have a current driver’s license

Must have a Trade certificate

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Design and Development:

    • Design mechanical components, systems, and devices using CAD software like AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or CATIA.

    • Create prototypes and test designs to ensure functionality, safety, and efficiency.

    • Conduct simulations and modeling to assess performance and durability.

  2. Analysis and Testing:

    • Perform stress, strain, and thermal analysis to determine the feasibility of designs.

    • Conduct experiments and tests to verify product designs and improve performance.

    • Identify and solve engineering challenges related to product design, manufacturing, or functionality.

  3. Project Management:

    • Oversee the development and manufacturing processes for mechanical systems.

    • Ensure that projects are completed on time, within budget, and according to specifications.

    • Collaborate with other engineers, designers, and stakeholders to meet project goals.

  4. Manufacturing Support:

    • Work with manufacturing teams to ensure that designs are manufacturable and cost-effective.

    • Specify materials, methods, and quality standards for production.

    • Provide technical support during the manufacturing and assembly stages.

  5. Quality Control and Improvement:

    • Monitor product quality and implement improvements to increase efficiency and reliability.

    • Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and safety requirements.

    • Identify areas for process improvement in product design, testing, and manufacturing.

  6. Collaboration and Communication:

    • Work closely with other engineers (electrical, civil, etc.), architects, and clients.

    • Present technical findings and design concepts to non-technical stakeholders, such as management or clients.

    • Provide ongoing support and maintenance for existing products or systems.

  7. Documentation and Reporting:

    • Create detailed reports, specifications, and documentation for products and systems.

    • Maintain accurate records of designs, tests, and modifications.

    • Ensure that all designs comply with regulatory and environmental guidelines.

Skills Required:

  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in mechanical design and analysis software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, ANSYS).

  • Problem-Solving: Ability to identify mechanical problems and develop efficient, innovative solutions.

  • Project Management: Experience managing budgets, timelines, and resources for projects.

  • Communication Skills: Ability to clearly present technical data and collaborate across teams.

  • Attention to Detail: High accuracy in designing and testing components to meet precise specifications.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field is typically required.

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license may be required for more advanced positions.

  • Experience in mechanical design, analysis, or manufacturing (typically 1-5 years for entry-level, more for senior roles).

  • Knowledge of industry-specific software and tools.

Working Conditions:

Brooks Mechanical is looking for an experienced and safety-focused High Voltage Auto Electrician to join our growing team. In this role, you’ll take the lead on installing, maintaining, and repairing high-voltage equipment across our projects, ensuring reliability and safety in some of WA’s toughest environments. You’ll bring your trade qualifications, HV switching expertise, and mine site experience to a role where no two days are the same.


What You’ll Be Doing

  • Diagnosing and repairing electrical system faults on heavy mobile equipment.

  • Servicing and maintaining equipment like electric drive trucks, excavators, and loaders.

  • Installing new wiring and high-voltage components.

  • Conducting field diagnostics and breakdown repairs.

  • Ensuring all work is completed safely and to Australian compliance standards.

  • Liaising with other teams to minimise equipment downtime. 

  • Air conditioning diagnostic and repairs.

  • Undertake other reasonable tasks and duties as directed by your Workshop Foreman/Supervisor.

 What You’ll Bring

  • Hold a valid, recognised Electrical Trade Certificate (essential).

  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical manuals.

  • Proven diagnostic and fault-finding skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex electrical issues

  • Hold a current ‘A’ Grade Electrical License (Essential)

  • High Voltage (HV) Switching ticket. Highly desirable for this specialised role.

  • Hold a valid A/C Refrigerant Licence with extensive diagnostic experience.

  • Experience with earthmoving equipment and/or specific brands such as CAT, Komatsu, or Liebherr and XCMG, is highly valued.

  • Current valid C-class driver’s licence (HR, LF and HC desirable)

  • Ability to work independently in remote and challenging conditions
